Saturday October 23 is National Make a Difference Day, and the Osceola National Forest will hold a work day at the Olustee Beach Recreation Area. The event is the second in a series to revitalize the forest and its facilities. The event will be from 9 AM to 12 pm, and afterwards, volunteers will be treated to a picnic lunch. Volunteers should bring their own work gloves. Tasks planned for the work day include assembling picnic tables, installing grills, weeding the beach, installing bike racks, fixing bulletin boards, and a fabulous picnic lunch for our volunteers!

Interested volunteers should contact Jeanette Holloway at 352-284-6625 or email volunteer.osceola@yahoo.com.

Directions: From US 90 turn north on CR 231 (at the flashing light) in Olustee. Pass the visitor depot and follow CR 231 until you see the signs for Olustee Beach.  Turn right into the beach area and meet the volunteer coordinators at the pavilion.
